Because i imagine things i don’t want

Obsessive people sometimes have obsessive thoughts or rituals. Although they are able to recognize their compulsive quality, the irrelevance or meaninglessness of it, they cannot avoid resisting it. In many cases it constitutes an Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). The person tries to reject these thoughts, ignoring them or through repetitive rituals, to calm the great anxiety they generate.
Obsessions are not excessive preoccupations with real problems. They are persistent ideas, thoughts, images or impulses that are experienced as invasive and senseless, so that the person tries to suppress or neutralize them.
Both obsessions and compulsions produce great discomfort: the person loses a great deal of time on them, or they interfere significantly in their usual routine, with their professional activity or with their social activities. In short, it affects their quality of life and interferes with personal relationships.

Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is a difficulty characterized by recurrent obsessions and compulsions, which cause discomfort and detract significant time and quality from the person’s daily activities.
Obsessions are recurrent thoughts, impulses or images, which occur involuntarily, are experienced as inappropriate and a source of discomfort. Compulsions are ritualized and irrepressible behaviors that are put in place to try to manage an obsession, reducing the level of anxiety, discomfort and worry generated by the obsession (APA, 2013; WHO, 2018; Arroyo et al., 2012).
Although the scientific literature has mainly focused on symptomatology in adults, OCD is a disorder that can also manifest in the infantile-youth stage. It can present a chronic course (Ivarsson & Valderhaug, 2006; APA, 2013) and, in many individuals, symptoms can vary throughout the life cycle (Lingiardi & McWilliams, 2017).

One of the main functions of the Madrid OCD Association is to put OCD sufferers, family and friends in contact with each other. There are several types of meetings that are set up in different ways to suit your needs.
The meetings are guided by one or two veterans of the association and have the assistance of a psychologist specializing in OCD. They are informal meetings with a small number of people in order to facilitate the answering of all the questions you may have.
They are usually held once a month, usually on Saturdays, from 12:30 to 13:45. These meetings are only for people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Places are limited and it is necessary to confirm attendance in advance. You can see the next meetings and register from the following link:
