The residents of the basic health area of Andrés Mellado now have a new health center: it is located on the southern boundary of the health area, on the same street where the uncomfortable facilities of the outpatient clinic that serves some 22,000 inhabitants of the area were located until now.
The new headquarters is located at the intersection of Fernando el Católico and Andrés Mellado streets, in the former Anti-Tuberculosis Dispensary, a building with almost a century of history and which houses seven medical offices, six nursing offices, one pediatrics office, one pediatric nursing office, a room for extractions/cures, an ultrasound room, a social worker’s office and other spaces for health professionals.
The center employs 34 healthcare professionals distributed over its two floors and 1,068 square meters. Its facade, made of exposed brick and painted steel carpentry, has been refurbished during construction works that have cost two million euros, reports the Community of Madrid in a press release.
