In September 2011 he began shooting Tengo ganas de ti, based on the book by Moccia.[4] The film, starring Mario Casas and Clara Lago, was finally released in June 2012. In its first weekend after its release it became the tenth highest grossing film worldwide.
In 2014 began the shooting of the film Palmeras en la Nieve, inspired by the novel by Luz Gabás,[12] which deals with the story of a forbidden love between different cultures and the knowledge of their secrets half a century later. The film was released in December 2015 and won the Goya Award for Best Song and Best Artistic Direction in 2016.[13]
Also in 2018 Fernando has released in theaters his documentary The best day of my life, which makes visible the story of six people from different countries, members of the LGTBI collective, around the celebration of the WorldPride 2017 party in Madrid.[16]

Molina nació en Pamplona, España, el 10 de noviembre de 1975. Estudió Comunicación Audiovisual en la Universidad de Navarra y Dirección en la Escuela de Cinematografía y del Audiovisual de la Comunidad de Madrid. Comenzó su carrera audiovisual con el cortometraje Velocidad, protagonizado por Beatriz Carvajal, Laura Morales y Vicente Granadas. Fue ganador del premio Roel de Oro en el Festival de Medina del Campo, del Premio del Público en el Festival de Astorga y del premio Blockbuster al mejor cortometraje del año. Tras este corto, comenzó a trabajar para la productora Globomedia, como los avances de las series Águila Roja y Los Serrano, así como los documentales sobre las giras de UPA Dance. También realizó los videoclips de Fran Perea y Pablo Puyol, así como documentales sobre las giras del sueño de Morfeo[1].
Desde 2008 dirigió algunos episodios de la serie de televisión de Antena 3 Los hombres de Paco,[2] donde conoció a su ayudante, Mario Casas.[3] En 2009 estrenó su primer largometraje, Fuga de cerebros, una comedia en la que un chico fabrica falsas becas para estar con la chica que le gusta, que está en la Universidad de Oxford. [4] La película se convirtió en un éxito de taquilla, recaudando 6.863.216 euros y atrayendo a 1.176.069 espectadores, además de ganar el Premio del Público en el Festival de Cine de Málaga.
