Francis Montesinos es un destacado diseñador valenciano reconocido por utilizar los atuendos tradicionales de su ciudad natal como inspiración recurrente en sus colecciones de moda. Introdujo conceptos de puesta en escena en un desfile clave que iluminó las futuras pasarelas, celebrado en 1983, en el Palacio de Cristal del Parque del Retiro de Madrid.
Actualmente, Francis Montesinos prepara el 50º aniversario de su marca de moda homónima. Comenzó su carrera en el mundo de la moda en los años 70 en el barrio del Carmen de Valencia. El joven y apuesto diseñador era entonces un nombre prometedor en el panorama mundial de la moda, y a principios de los 80 ya aparecía en las principales revistas de moda y era retratado por destacados fotógrafos, como Helmut Newton.
El hermoso palacio de cristal del parque central de Madrid, El Retiro, fue el lugar elegido. La pasarela se decoró con pintura fluorescente para retratar siluetas, con color y luz, flores y frutas, plumas y lentejuelas. Se implementaron conceptos escénicos, se establecieron horarios de ensayo y se dieron consejos de actuación a las modelos de la pasarela. Todo esto se consideró en su momento un derroche total de recursos para un evento que iba a durar sólo media hora. Pero Montesinos contrarrestó las críticas afirmando que las fotos tomadas en el desfile durarían para siempre.
