Pablo and Isabel met in Madrid, in a Colegio Mayor. The Alicante-born Isabel came to the capital to study Psychopedagogy at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. They got married, as expected, in the church and in the traditional style in the basilica of Santa María de Elche. Casado was president of New Generations of the PP and the religious ceremony was attended by José María Aznar, Ana Botella and Esperanza Aguirre. The PP of always and that now Casado resurrects burying the ‘Rajoy era’.
The Casado-Torres couple lives in an apartment in the Salamanca neighborhood of the capital. Casado is little given to talk about his personal life. One of the few times he did, he expressed himself in this way about Isabel: «The best thing about her is everything. She is an extraordinary person. That’s why I married her. She is much better than me». On another occasion he said: «Clearly, I was the winner…. I think she is very beautiful, very smart, a very good mother, a very good wife».
Of all the candidates to make the Moncloa her home, Isabel is the most discreet. There are very few rallies where she has shown herself at Pablo Casado’s side. When she has done so, it has been in the most discreet way possible. Isabel, far from politics, works in a school located in the north of Madrid and in her Instagram account she defines herself as «Psychologist, psychopedagogue and mother».

Casado and Isabel Torres know what it means to fight for what you love the most, no matter the sacrifice.  Pablo and Isabel began to discover that fight three weeks before the birth of their son, Pablito. At only 22 weeks gestation, doctors realized that the bag protecting the fetus was breaking, and if this were to happen, the baby’s life would be seriously compromised.
The PP politician says it in a relaxed tone, with the confidence of someone who relates a hard moment knowing that it is already a thing of the past but with the crestfallen look of someone who still feels the weight of those long hours in the hospital.  Casado recalls that those days were spent with him and his wife glued to the «foot of the incubator», coping with the «many unpleasantness» and after «many operations».    «I think it is one of those life experiences that then makes you relativize everything else. Those experiences that make you a better person and a better professional», said the politician.
The situation was so drastic that Pablo and Isabel promised that if their son finally managed to survive this ordeal, the family would walk the Camino de Santiago to give thanks for this work. A promise that was kept on August 25, 2018 by Pablo, Isabel and their two children.
