Somehow, for a long time, the philosophy that has guided water management has been «out of sight, out of mind». I take it away so that it does not cause me floods and does not transmit diseases. This is a point of view that is no longer acceptable today. Today, water management must be included in the city’s integrated planning. If this criterion is not incorporated into urban planning and city development, it becomes a bottomless pit. We will only be investing to generate problems that will be reproduced again. The main advice is this: include the integral water cycle, both drinking water and wastewater, as well as runoff water -rainwater- in the integral planning of the city, including strategic planning.
