Aquí hay un grupo de animales salvajes, que son los mejores que existen. Un par de ellos se encuentran en la arena y se han puesto de acuerdo para ver a los animales en este entorno. Cuando uno se acerca a la cima de la montaña, llega a un templo, desde el que se tiene una vista espectacular del campo de golf de Bengala. ¡Lohnt sich!
A las 8.20 horas llegué a Colombo, la capital de Sri Lanka. Para entrar en Sri Lanka se necesita un visado que se puede obtener a la llegada por 35 dólares o previamente por internet en http://www.eta.gov.lk/slvisa/ por 30 dólares. El aeropuerto está más cerca de Negombo que de Colombo, así que si llegas tarde considera quedarte en Negombo. Hacerlo antes es la opción más fácil y ahorra tiempo y molestias en el aeropuerto. Como es habitual, hay muchos taxistas y tuk tuk esperándote, las tarifas del viaje dependen de tu capacidad de regateo. Yo decidí tomar la opción más barata: el autobús exprés a Colombo por 120 LKR, que te deja en la estación principal de Colombo.
Los albergues de Sri Lanka son un poco más caros que los de la India; por una habitación de 8 personas con aire acondicionado se pagan unas 1.000-1500 LKR. Yo me alojé en el Colombo City Hostel, un albergue muy bonito en el centro de Colombo. Puedes disfrutar de un desayuno gratuito en la terraza de la azotea con una gran vista de la ciudad. Mis amigos Dustin y Meaghan me hablaron de los alquileres TUK-TUK, que son una forma muy interesante de explorar la isla.

After reading several travel blogs like The world is better with you or Together traveling and their experiences with their tuk tuks, we made the decision to rent our tuk tuk in Negombo, «Denny Tuko». We called him that because he was the Sri Lankan show-off with three girls on board.
We took a tuk tuk from where the bus dropped us off in Negombo to Pick&Go travels (200 LKR = 1,26€). We had previously contacted the company by email ([email protected]) to let them know of our arrival.
Renting a tuk tuk in Negombo for 17 days is not cheap. But we wanted to live the experience. The price of the rental was 320€ = 18,8€ per day + 180€ deposit that is returned when you deliver the tuk tuk.
We sit in his office and once he explains and delivers the documentation of the tuk tuk, his assistant appears to give us practical lessons on how to drive it. All in show!
