I do not know how you got to the ninth tapa, it seems inhuman.Inma, if you have not been I recommend it because it is one of the most mythical places in Jaén. What I do warn you is to arrive before 14:00 (if you go at noon) or before 20:30 (at night) because it gets crowded with astonishing ease.the Hawaii I know because it is in the Gran Eje, although I think I’ve never been. Anyway, you can be sure I will try it!

Jaén is one of those places where going out for tapas means that you get good portions of food with your beer or wine. And that, of course, we love. So we invite you to a good route for tapas in Jaén, so that you know what it is to eat well and cheaply.
If there is a product that stands out in Jaén above the rest, it is undoubtedly olive oil and olives. The reason is obvious: Jaén is full and surrounded by olive trees everywhere. That is why the province is an international producer of olive oil.

El Abuelo is a very well known bar in this town because its name refers to the famous Holy Week procession that takes place every Holy Thursday at dawn. Its tapas are great and it is, without a doubt, one of the places you can’t miss on your tapas route in Jaén.

The Iberians, who populated the area between the 6th century BC and the 1st century AD, are the protagonists of the Museum of Jaén (9) (Paseo de la Estación, 27; www.museosdeandalucia.es). At the exit we find the statue of the lizard of Jaén (Santo Domingo, 16), which recalls one of the oldest legends of the city: a condemned man confronted a huge lizard that had frightened the people of Jaén; to do so, he filled the skin of a dead lamb with gunpowder and fed it to the animal, which burst when the charge exploded. Hence the popular saying «You’re going to burst like the lizard of Jaén», applied, for example, when someone eats too much.
